my choice generally depends if I'm playing either a more stealth oriented character or a combat oriented character. The MK117 isn't very lore-friendly by definition but it's still an incredible looking and feeling armor. The RCSS is a bit more lore-friendly yet still giving of a more sleek modern design than the armor's in game. If it's a mod, I'm split between The reinforced Chinese stealth suit(my favorite armor mod in Fallout 3) and the MK117 prototype power armor. It's the first thing you see when starting a fallout NV playthrough and looking at it and the art that inspired it made me think that I just had to have that armor. With it's glowing eyed air filtration helmet and the leather duster slung over. They look badass and are the kinda armor you really understand an experienced wasteland warrior wearing. They just scream Fallout New Vegas to me, just like the t-45b did for fallout 3. A diverse family of personal body armor with varying degrees of sophistication, providing balanced protection against both energy and ballistic damage. I love the look of these armors still do even though I generally only use armor's added by mods for my character. The combat armor, reinforced and matching combat helmet, reinforced are pieces of armor in Fallout: New Vegas. For me it has to be all the variants on the riot armor, from the iconic Ranger veteran armor to the riot armor variants found in Lonesome road, in particular the desert armor found in Honest Hearts.
